As the Russian River meanders through the wine country of West Sonoma County it offers kayakers of all levels a wonderful opportunity to experience its beauty from a front row seat. Here at King's we offer several different opportunities to experience the river; you can take one of our self-guided trips for just one day or a multi-day adventure, or we can drop a kayak off at your rental house to enjoy at your leisure for as long as you would like.
There is also an option to rent a kayak at our store and self-transport it to a location of your choice.​​ This gives you the freedom to take the kayak where you want such as the upper Russian River, Lake Sonoma, Bodega Bay, or Tomales Bay, to name a few.
REQUIREMENTS:

Credit card needed to make a reservation.

Kayaks must arrive in Monte Rio by 5pm.

If self-transporting, kayaks must be returned to the store by 5:00pm.

All participants MUST have a basic knowledge of how to swim and are required to wear life vests when in the boat at all times.

All participants must be physically able to paddle for 2.5 hours.

CANCELLATIONS:

To not be charged a cancellation fee you must cancel 48 hours in advance, 72 hours for groups of 10 or more.

No shows will be charged the full rental rate to the card used for the reservation.

​​Trip #1: Self Transport Only
You must be able to transport the kayaks TO AND FROM THE STORE yourself.

​Trip #2: Guerneville to Monte Rio
Self-guided. Transportation back from Monte Rio included.
Approx. Paddling Time: 2.5 to 3 hours Distance: 5 Miles
Excellent trip for individuals of all experience levels
Must arrive at the store no later than 1pm for this trip.

Trip #3: JOHNSONS BEACH & BACK​​
Available Mid June to late September. Option to go Upstream or Downstream from Johnson's, returning back to Johnson's Beach.
Downstream to Vacation Beach dam and back is approximately 4 miles, paddling time of 2 to 2.5 hours No shuttle necessary.
Lots of beaches to pull off at to have a picnic lunch or go for a swim.​​​​

​​​PADDLEBOARD RENTALS

We now offer stand up paddle boards or SUP's. These are dropped off above the dam at Johnsons Beach and need to be returned to where the SUPs are dropped off. You are welcome to transport the boards yourself. Note that due to the SUP fin, you will be charged for any damage incurred due to paddling in shallow water.

Take a wonderful adventure down the Russian River on a self-guided trip. We supply the kayak, life vest, paddle, dry bag, and transportation. Our transportation service will launch you from below Johnson's Beach and send you downstream where you are likely to experience a fun (and easy) trip. These trips are perfect for kayakers of any level. Transportation back from Monte Rio is included in the price. All kayak trips start out with basic boating instructions and the “dos and don’ts” of paddling the river.
Reservations are greatly appreciated but walk-ins are welcome!
